Jim is originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he started in the retail grocery industry and had his first introduction to the UFCW with Country Club Markets at age 14.
When Jim was 16, he moved with his family to Seattle, Washington. He continued with his career in the retail grocery industry and his UFCW membership, working for Tradewell Stores.
After 11 years at Tradewell Stores, Jim went to work for UFCW Local #1105 in Seattle as a union representative. While he was at Local #1105, he held a variety of job duties, including the Assistant Grievance Director, Grievance Director, Staff Director, and Secretary-Treasurer.
In 2005, UFCW Locals #1105 and #1001 merged to become UFCW Local #21, and Jim continued on with the new local as the Retail Director before moving back to Minnesota and coming onboard with UFCW Local #1116 as an organizer and union representative.
Jim has two adult children, David and Sydney, and a grandson, Banner. He resides in Superior, Wisconsin and Chisago City, Minnesota. |
