Congratulations, President Gary Morgan, on your appointment! (5-20-09) Please join us in celebrating the appointment of Gary Morgan to fill out the remainder of retired President Steve Gilbertson's term. President Morgan has worked for UFCW 1116 since January of 2006 as a union representative covering health care and manufacturing. Prior to coming to UFCW 1116, President Morgan spent many years as a UFCW member, as a shop floor steward, an Executive Board member, and the President of UFCW Local 9 in Austin, Minnesota. During that time, he was also a member of the UFCW Region 6 Executive Board and on the National Packing Advisory Board. Additionally, he was part of the 1985 strike at Hormel that lasted over six months. He is a Minnesota native, having lived in southern Minnesota for most of his life until he was hired on with Local 1116. He and his wife live in Gilbert, Minnesota, and have two grown children and a grandchild. Congratulations, President Gilbertson on your retirement! (4-13-09) After many years of service, President Steve Gilbertson retired on the 18th of March. His retirement party is scheduled for April 24, 2009, in the UFCW 1116 office, from 2-5pm. Please join us! Welcome, Jim Gleb! (4-13-09) In February of 2009, Jim Gleb joined Local 1116 as a representative/organizer. Jim has served the UFCW for over 20 years in many different capacities, most recently as the Retail Director of Local 21 in Seattle, Washington. Welcome aboard, Jim!
