Dan Hudyma
Dan began his working career at Zup’s Big Dollar (Silver Bay) in 1965. In April of 1967 he began his Meat Cutter Apprenticeship there. After leaving Zup’s, he worked in Hoyt Lakes, then to Duluth where he worked at Fichtner’s, John’s Red Owl and finally at Super One’s Miller Hill location.
During his time in Duluth he was on the Executive Board, First Vice President and on the Contract Negotiations Committees of UFCW Local 12A. In 1999 the UFCW Local 12A Executive Board appointed him to fill out the term of President Malha upon his retirement. He was elected President in 2000 and 2003. UFCW Local 1116 and UFCW Local 12A merged in 2004.
Since that time he has been on staff at Local 1116 as a union representative representing the employees/members at grocery stores and nursing homes in Minnesota and Wisconsin and a Credit Union in Minnesota. Dan is also a Trustee with the Northern Minnesota-Wisconsin Area Retail Food Health and Welfare Fund.
Dan and his family live in Duluth, Minnesota.
